To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pennsylvania's Dirt, Gravel, and Low Volume Road Maintenance Program, the Center for Dirt and Gravel Road Studies held a Successes in Rural Road Maintenance and Ecology Symposium on April 4, 2017 at Penn State University. This symposium highlighted the history of the Program and Center and many of the successes over the last 20 years. The symposium included a mix of speakers that focused on their research and activities in sustainable rural road maintenance and ecology. In commemoration of the 20th anniversary, a special citation from Senator Jake Corman was presented to the Program. The day closed with a poster session that brought together road managers, academics, government employees, and the non-profit sector to share their stories and accomplishments.
